Outdoor Misting System Installation in Surprise & the West Valley

During Surprise and Goodyear summers, patio temperatures regularly hit 110°F+. High-pressure misting systems cut ambient outdoor temperatures by 20–30°F through flash evaporation — turning an unusable patio into a comfortable outdoor space even in July. Mason Electric installs hardwired, high-pressure misting systems on patios, pergolas, and outdoor entertainment areas throughout the West Valley.

What Is a Misting System?

A high-pressure misting system forces water through small nozzles at 1,000 PSI or more, creating droplets so fine (10–20 microns) they evaporate almost instantly. As droplets evaporate, they absorb heat — the same principle as sweating. In Arizona's low humidity, this evaporative cooling effect is dramatic: 20–30°F reduction is typical and 35–40°F is possible on the hottest, driest days.

Mason Electric installs the full system: high-pressure pump unit, stainless steel or aluminum misting lines, anti-drip nozzles, and a timer or smart control. We also wire the pump to a dedicated electrical circuit.

Misting System Installation Options

High-Pressure Systems (1,000 PSI) — Recommended

High-pressure systems require a pump unit to boost household water pressure. At this pressure, droplets evaporate before reaching furniture or people — you feel cooled air, not a spray. We install the pump in a protected location, run stainless or aluminum line around the patio perimeter, and wire the pump to a dedicated circuit.

Mid-Pressure Systems (200–300 PSI)

Use a smaller booster pump. Droplet size is larger, so some light mist may be felt close to nozzles. Less expensive and work well for shaded patios.

Timer & Smart Control Integration

Every system includes a timer or smart control for automatic cooling during peak heat hours (11am–7pm in Arizona summers).

System Type Pressure Cooling Effect Wet Feeling Best For
Low-pressure (garden hose) 40–60 PSI 5–10°F Noticeable — gets surfaces wet Temporary / DIY setups
Mid-pressure (booster pump) 200–300 PSI 15–20°F Light mist near nozzles Shaded patios, budget installations
High-pressure (dedicated pump) 1,000+ PSI 20–30°F (up to 40°F) None — full flash evaporation Full patio cooling, outdoor kitchens

How Much Does a Misting System Cost in Arizona?

High-pressure system for a standard 200–400 sq ft patio typically runs $1,500–$3,500 installed, including pump, misting line, nozzles, controls, and electrical connection. Mid-pressure systems run $800–$1,800.

How Misting System Installation Works

  • System Design — We measure your patio, calculate nozzle spacing (typically every 18–24 inches), and size the pump for your coverage area.
  • Installation — We mount the pump, run misting line around the perimeter, install anti-drip nozzles, and wire the pump to a dedicated circuit.
  • Commissioning & Controls — We test at full pressure, verify nozzle spray pattern, program the timer or smart control, and walk you through maintenance.
