Our Fixture Installation Projects
What Is Fixture Installation?
Fixture installation covers any permanent, wired light or ceiling fan that requires connection to your home's electrical system. This includes replacing existing fixtures, upgrading to new styles, and installing in locations where no fixture previously existed.
Fixture Installation Services We Offer
Ceiling Fan Installation
Ceiling fan installation requires a fan-rated electrical box — a standard light box isn't strong enough. We install proper fan-rated boxes, connect wiring for both fan and light independently, and test all functions. We work with Hunter, Hampton Bay, Minka-Aire, and Casablanca.
Recessed Lighting & LED Retrofit
For new installations, we run wiring and install new housing. For existing can lights, we offer LED retrofit kits — a canless LED module that snaps into existing housing and replaces the old bulb and trim. LED retrofits use 8–12W compared to 65W incandescent, cutting energy use by up to 80%.
Pendant & Chandelier Installation
We calculate proper hang height, install or reinforce the ceiling box, and handle all wiring. For heavy chandeliers (over 50 lbs), we install a structural brace rated for the fixture's weight.
Vanity & Bathroom Lighting
Bathroom vanity lights must be positioned correctly — side-mounted fixtures at eye level eliminate facial shadows. We handle GFCI requirements for bathroom wiring throughout.
How Fixture Installation Works
- Assessment — We confirm the existing box type, wiring gauge, and whether a new circuit is needed.
- Installation — We shut off power at the panel, install the correct box if needed, connect and secure the fixture, and restore power.
- Test & Clean Up — We test all functions (including remotes and dimmers), clean up debris, and confirm the installation before leaving.
